I have been using the smart phone app called "Walk for a dog" which allows you to to count your dog walks to a site that contributes funds to your favorite animal charities! I downloaded it from the Google Play store and it's free! You get to pick the animal charity from it's list and if your favorite is not on the list, you can send the info to the charity's persons and get them to sign up! Then, you can help the charity each and every time that you walk your dog, if you turn on the app while walking!
Have any of you used this site ?
No, I have never heard of it but what a great idea and a fun way to help a dog charity!

Yes, we have used the app. My only compliant is that is seems to really drain my battery.
ReplyDeleteI have used the app, and even wrote about it on our blog, but I can never seem to get it to stay working. It drains my battery pretty bad, too! I wish they'd do some upgrades so it would quit shutting down all the time.
ReplyDeleteWhat a brilliant idea. My mobile doesn't have apps, but if it did I'd see if they'd take someone from the UK.

I use WoofTrax all the time! I love knowing I'm helping a local rescue just by walking Toby. For me, it works perfectly and doesn't use much battery. Maybe it depends on the kind of phone you have or who your provider is? (I have a Samsung and we use Verizon). As long as I have at least 20% charge, I can walk 2-3 miles without a problem. If I get a call the program continues running in the background.
