Now, onto the very important task of showing off the territories of the dogs on my sofa!
|
Sometimes the sofa is split equally, but Hera puts her head on Power's butt! |
|
Sometimes Power takes the Lion's share of the sofa but Hera her neck up! |
|
This time the sofa is hogged by Power but Hera again puts her head on Power |
|
Sometimes Hera takes her share out of the floor and sofa! |
|
This time, Hera stole the only rawhide and seemed to be gloating! |
They share territory very amicably, but sometimes it's also funny!
Poor Hera! It looks like he takes up 2/3 of the sofa, and she gets 1/3. I've seen studies that report human males do the same thing. Arms out, legs spread, feet out. Women are knees together, hands in lap, etc. I imagine it's something from way back and still in our DNA, maybe the same for canines? Or is it just that men want to look bigger than they are, and we want to look smaller than we are. :)
ReplyDeleteIn the case of my hounds, the first one one the sofa takes their half out of the middle and that leaves the two ends of the sofa for the second dog. I've trained Power to move over when I ask him too, but so far, Hera has to be physically moved!
DeleteIt's so nice to see them snuggling up. Not sure Hera is wise putting her head on Powers butt though:)
ReplyDeleteHope you have a good start to the week. Sue & Polly
Sue, there is no problem with them snuggling up with the head on the other's butt. The dog food that they eat does not make them expel gas!
DeleteGreat photos! I hope they left you a place to sit.

Lynne, I sit in a recliner opposite the sofa!
