The shrub above doesn't look like much when in winter dormancy or spring leafing out. But then it buds and blossoms and suddenly it is an amazing 6 inch bloom of gorgeousness! The first time I saw one I was spellbound.
That's beautiful! I suppose I've seen the plant many times, but didn't realize it had such a big, gorgeous bloom. Aren't these desert flowers something?

ReplyDeleteThe shrub is very similar to the small mesquite trees, but does not have thorns.
