DO I OR DON'T I?

Decisions!

I thought retirement was supposed to be easy!  It is still filled with decisions, but different ones in addition to the regular ones.

The decision on my plate this week is: Do I get another greyhound to join the family, or do I decide to keep the family small and avoid the extra cost, housework, training, etc.

My family consists of one greyhound female 9.5 yrs old, and one cat 6 yrs old.
I have been used to having two greyhounds and two cats.  Over the last two months I have lost one greyhound and one cat , both to bone cancer.  I miss them greatly.

  1. Thinking about losing Val brings tears to my eyes again. I'm glad you're thinking about getting a new dog - it's going to be a hard decision for you, but I'll bet you'll soon have two dogs. :)

  3. We lost our Jack suddenly last year. He broke his femur and we found out he had cancer. I am so sorry for your loss. It is so hard when they leave us.

    1. Patty Erdman, thanks for your comment. You are right. It very hard when they leave us. I believe that the love and beauty that they bring to our lives makes it all worthwhile. I lost another greyhound years ago as well as Val this summer. I was so devastated that I couldn't be consoled. My Dad lived with me then and his need for companionship (while I was working) pushed me to adopt Val and then Fleur. They were such a blessing!
