Milestones

I have a lot to be considering in thanking life for milestones:

Deb Dean is listed as a new blog follower.  Deb, thanks for being interested in my blog.

Also, I want to thanks everyone who has contributed to the 60,000+ page views.  Each time I see that information, I rejoice that I am sharing a bit with others, as they share with me!

This last fews days I have been celebrating my parents wedding anniversary from 1939.  They loved each other their entire adult lives and it's an honor to remember their anniversary

I finally finished appliquéing the top to the antique quilt that was began in 1920, by my mother's mother.

For the friends and "relatives" who contributed a shirt to the quilt, I thank you for it, and you will probably see your fabric in the photos!

  2. If I were to applique a quilt, it would be a monumental milestone. ;)

  3. Howdy Hazel. Our Nana and Poppa (mums parents) were married in 1944 and together for nearly 65 years. Sadly they have both passed away now but we like to remember their anniversary too as they shared a lifetime of love as well. Your quilt is amazing. Hope your weekend is a good one. No worries, and love, Stella and Rory
P.S. Rory's bandana was sent to him from a friend in America. While he was sick she sent it over and said just because he wasn't well, didn't mean he couldn't look "dapper". He loves it.

  4. Crikey Hazel ...... your quilt was started in 1920 by your Mothers, Mom? What a wonderful thing to have. I'm glad you have finished it and have friends and family that contributed to it. It is VERY beautiful. My parents were married in 1938. My Mum is still alive (96 years old) but my Dad, unfortunately died when I was 2. I never knew him but I believe he was a wonderful man. He had a love of all animals. I guess I got that from him.
