She meant....?

While at the blog fest on the weekend, I had a lady come up to me and make the following comment: "She's training you".  I remember feeling confused by this comment, and also thinking that she was referring to Hera.

I wonder if any of you who are reading this post are the lady who made this comment, and if so, would you please chime in and help me understand what you were saying to me.

The blog fest had so many people there whom I had not met before that I could not keep very many straight in my mind.

We had a great time and I hope we do it again!

  1. I'd bet she was referring to Hera. People have said that to me about Katie. Because we love our dogs and treat them well doesn't mean WE are being trained. Just like raising kids, we let our dogs get away with things that don't bother us, but they might bother someone else. Well, too bad! Katie is well trained, the way I want her to be. And I'm sure you're doing the same with Hera. Your dogs are certainly not training you, but you are patient and not forceful with them. They are good dogs, and YOU are training THEM exactly the way you want them to behave. Don't let her comment bother you. She was probably joking with you, trying to start up a conversation, and didn't mean anything negative. :)

    1. I didn't worry about the comments, but I got distracted by the crowd and forgot to carry on the conversation with the lady and get her to flesh out the comments!

  2. That looks like a great get together, glad you had a good time!
Thanks for your good wishes for Dip, yes, it is always a worry when they have to have an anaesthetic at that age.

  3. I agree, I think she meant Hera:) Sometimes I think our dogs do train (for want of a better word) us. I think back to my dad when we had dogs when I was young. He'd say they are not allowed on the sofa. A few days later he would be sitting on the sofa with a dog cuddled up to him. They definitely are not allowed on the beds. You guessed it, a few days later:) Even with my dogs I have had in mind what I did and didn't want them to do and have made concessions on some things. In the grand scheme of things I don't mind being trained, as they give me unconditional love.

Hope you have a lovely weekend Hazel. Hugs Sue, Polly & Honey

  4. Howdy Mates. Nice to meet you. Thanks for dropping by for a visit. I, Rory, have to wear my boots because 14 months ago I had a Fibro Cartilaginous Embolism (sort of a stroke in my lower spine) and was paralysed for three weeks but have come good after lots of help from mum and dad. I'm a wonky walker now and my left back foot is paralysed but don't worry, I'm happy and loving life. I'm 3 1/2 years old and would you believe I weigh 91 kgs (200 lbs). My sissy is Stella the cocker spaniel and she is the boss of me hehe. We love greyhounds and mum's aunty used to have one years ago called Lady. She was a gentle beautiful girl. Anyhoo, we'll catch up again and we look forward to hearing more of your adventures in your motorhome. It sounds like fun. Take care. No worries, and slobbery love, Rory and Stella (and Carol)

  7. It looks like a really fun time! I love getting together with other bloggers. It wouldn't surprise me if she was referring to Hera. Greyhounds do have an uncanny way of getting us to do what they want!
