Quilting in Quartzsite

A few days ago, I met these two quilts (and also the quiltmakers!). The quilters are two retired ladies who are the managers of one of the BLM offices in Quartzsite.  They park their RV's right behind the office, and thus, they were able to bring their quilts out to show me in between their customers.

The quilt below was called a crazy quilt, and she made it of the scraps from other quilts!

I am discovering how many ladies bring their sewing along with them in their RVs.  It's a wonder!

  1. They're beautiful! I especially like the crazy quilt. If I were an RV-er, I would definitely bring my sewing along!

  2. What fabulous quilts. I love them both for different reasons. I like the second because it has loads of colours, but i like the first for the vivid blue and green.

Hope you are ok and you are having a good week. Sue, Polly & Honey

  4. Making a crazy quilt is on my bucket list - I want to use satins, velvets, cotton, any kind of pretty material I can find, then do fancy stitching on it, too, and some ribbon stitching. I want to make a small one, though, to hang on a wall, or a small lap quilt. I think they are so different looking.

    Both quilts shown are beautiful!

  5. G'day Hazel (my Mum LOVES that name) ..... thanks for stoppin' by my blog today. That was VERY nice of you. You live in an RV with 2 beautiful greyhounds and a cat????????? OMD what a great time you must have. My Mum is VERY envious. She would LOVE to live in an RV but my Dad won't have a bar of it. She would also love to own a greyhound. She's got me and I'm great (AND modest) but she would like a greyhound and an italian greyhound too then she would have one of each size, aye?? It will NEVER happen. The Dad thing, again!!!!!!!!
Crikey ..... those quilts are beautiful, aye?? I sure hope we can be friends. I will look forward to getting to know you all.
