Night Terror

Last evening and night we had several thunderstorms and lots of rain.  The thunder and lightening was very scary to Fleur and she was really trying to dig her way through the floors to get to sanctuary!  She was panting and watching it all with great worrying all throughout.  In her efforts to get through the floor, she actually pulled the finish off the vinyl flooring.

Fleur starts out by becoming VERY alert

Then the panting begins

The panting gets more and more

Power worries a lot as well

Then he worries some more

And worries more

He even invites his special love to help him!

  2. Have you tried a Thunder Shirt? It didn't make Emma totally calm, but at least she has stopped her pacing when a storm is happening.

    1. Judy, please tell Emma" thanks for the reminder", because I have one, but forget to use it. Storms come up after bedtime and sleepy mama doesn't remember the thunder shirt!

  3. Poor Fleur. Can you get DAP (Dog Appeasing Pheramonas)? It use to help song is she was anxious. You just spray in on bedding or int he room and it's supposed to be the smell a lactating bitch gives off to her pups and soothes the dog. You can get it in collars, spray and plug ins. It's not cheap but the spray last for ages, as you only need a few squirts.

    Glad Power wasn't bothered.

  4. Poor Fleur, Bridge always used to hate thunderstorms and fireworks. Power has found quite a good way of dealing with it.

    1. I searched for a dog with no fear of thunderstorms when I got Power. It's wonderful to have one hound which is calm!

    1. Thanks Cathie. I have one thundershirt, and have to remember to get it out when a storm comes along during the night!

  6. Interesting that Power doesn't pick up on Fleur's anxiety behavior (and a good thing). Too bad it doesn't work the other way around though, she following his example.
