These lovely creatures are often seen watching and standing guard over the beach areas. They wait till all is safe and then feed in the shallows along the beach.

These majestic birds have such lovely plumage all year, but the lush feathery beards are in breeding season only.
Aren't I fortunate to get to share space with these birds?
Beautiful birds. We have Herons here, but not as big as that.
