| Hera could not relax! |
It wasn't a terribly long drive, but both my greyhounds were nervous travelers and panted the whole way! Power wouldn't lie on the sofa, but wanted to stand beside me the entire way, and since I wanted him to lie down, we had a bit of a battle of the wills. He would reluctantly lie on the floor just behind me, but would not stay there for long. Hera did lie on the sofa, but she panted continuously.
Chica sat in my La-Z-Boy relined the whole way. She was fine, no panting or anything.
All in all we had a successful trip, and were glad to see the park again.
I put Emma in her crate when I am driving. She generally pants the whole way too.
ReplyDeleteI don't have crates for my hounds since it would take up more room than I have, but I am glad to know that Emma also pants!
DeleteGlad you got to the park ok. Don't know if you can buy it there, but DAP (Dog Appeasing Pheramones) might help Hera and Power. You can get a spray, plug in or collar. Not sure about the collar for Greyhounds. I have the plug in and if I am going to be out longer than usual I plug that in. I use the spray if and when required. You can spray it onto a bandana, but I'd make sure you spray it on the side that won't be touching skin.&
