Aftermath of thunderstorms

We had multiple thunderstorms, one right behind another for over 9 hours!  Fleur had her thunder shirt on, and tried her best to dig holes through the floor of the motorhome.
The following day, she was seemingly exhausted and did not leave the sofa until 2 pm!

Power, however seemed to sleep through the storms, and lay on the sofa throughout!  But, the following day he was taking advantage of the sofa as thoroughly as Fleur!

  1. Poor Fleur. Maybe if you made a little tent she could go in, she'd feel safer. Also the use of DAP definitely helped Song when she was anxious.

Glad Power got his turn on the sofa:)

    1. Sue, I did everything that I could, considering that Fleur is very resistant to any help (meds, etc) when she is very scared. In the past, I've tried to give her melatonin and got bit.

  2. So are you saying the thunder shirts don't work? We were thinking of getting one for Fraser. He shakes so bad we expect him to have a heart attack during thunder storms! Glad fleur is recuperating!

    1. Maura, the thundershirt might have helped a tiny bit, but it's hard to tell. I will tell about something new that I tried in my next post.

  4. Something that might help Fleur, besides the Thundershirt, is using a little melatonin. We used it to help Lilac. It's a natural sleep aid and I know a lot of Greyhound people use it on their hounds. It helps them to fall asleep and stay there. Combined with the Thundershirt, we had good results with it.
