Strike Force Hera

Yesterday I took my hounds to the vet to weigh them, get their toenails clipped and buy some glucosmine.  The first thing that I had to face was the vet assistant asking me her name, so I  gulped and said".........................."

First I want to tell you that she weighed 56 lbs.  I knew she was smaller than Fleur!  Her shoulders and hips are much narrower than Fleur and Power, which gives her a dainty look.  Her head is dainty also, and due to her small size in general, the head is shortened in comparison to Fleur and Power!

She's mostly a quiet dog, but does whine a tad when looking out the windshield of the motorhome, and twice she's growled at Power in the car.  Time will tell if this will be a problem.

She's been a very well house trained dog so far!  When she pees and poops she doesn't stoop very low so I wonder if it's due to her injured leg!

So, in light of all this, I introduce her as

Hera!

  1. Welcome, Hera! How old is she? What is the injury to her leg - was it caused in a race, and the reason she is no longer racing? I wonder if the growling is to tell Power to give her some space, like Katie has done? I hope so - I hope she and Power will become very good friends.

  3. She's really beautiful and I hope you'll be really happy together! I tried looking her up on Greyhound Data to see if either of the girls are related to her, but I couldn't find her.

  4. Just looked her up. See her birthday is 7th April, 2011. She doesn't appear to be related to my Polly.

Hope she's settled well with you.

Hope you have a lovely day. Sue & Polly

  5. Congratulations to you, Power, Chica and Hera :) I'm sure Fleur had something to do with everything falling in to place so neatly. I hope Power has recovered his appetite with the arrival of the very beautiful Hera. Looking forward to lots more photos and reading about your journey together!
